Diese spezielle Art der Beschichtung hat eine extrem hohe Härte von 2400 HV Vickers (dies entspricht ca. 83 HRC!). Aufgrund dieser Härte ist es kaum möglich, die Beschichtung zu beschädigen oder abzunutzen. Natürlich kann hier auch der ein oder andere Kratzer auftreten, gerade wenn Metall auf Metall trifft oder im Zuge des Nachschärfens. Nichtsdestotrotz kennen wir im Augenblick nur wenige Beschichtungen, die dieser ebenbürtig sind. Die Klinge des Fällkniven A1 Pro besteht nun aus laminiertem Cobaltstahl (lam.CoS =C 1.1%. Cr. 16%. W 0.3%. Mo 1.5%. V 0.3%. Co 2.5% umlagert von zwei 420J2 Außenlagen). Die Klingenstärke wurde von 6 mm auf 7 mm erhöht. Laut Aussage von Fällkniven und dem britischen CATRA Test Laboratories hat die Klinge nun eine Härte von 60 HRC, ist sehr schnitthaltig und neigte auch im harten Praxistest nicht zu Klingenausbrüchen.
