White River uses only USA sourced materials with the exception of certain exotic materials not produced in the US such as cork. The White River Knife and Tool name is inspired by Michigan’s White River which runs through the family property in the Manistee National Forest.

Das GTI 4.5 von White River Knives wurde von Justin Gingrich entwickelt. Justin war 10 Jahre in der US Army, wovon er sowohl bei den Rangers als auch anschließend bei den Special Forces eingesetzt wurde. In diesem Messer bringt er seine Ideen und Anforderungen für ein optimales Militär- und Outdoormesser ein. In Zusammenarbeit mit White River wurde das GTI 4.5 umgesetzt. Die Klinge wurde aus pulvermetalurgischem CPM S35VN (ca. 60 HRC) mit schwarzer Ionbond Beschichtung gefertigt. Hier hat der kleine Familienbetrieb seine Wurzeln, durch dessen Grundstück der White River fließt. White River verwendet ausschließlich Materialien aus den USA, mit Ausnahme exotischer Materialien, die nicht in den USA hergestellt werden, wie z. B. Kork. Die Klinge des Ursus Cub besteht aus CPM-MAGNACUT-Stahl mit einer Härte von 62–64 HRC. Dieser Stahl zeichnet sich durch außergewöhnliche Schnitthaltigkeit, hohe Stabilität und gleichzeitige Rostunempfindlichkeit aus. Das Messer ist für den harten Outdooreinsatz konzipiert und kann für alle anfallenden Bushcraftarbeiten genutzt werden. Ob als Jagd- oder als Alltags-Messer, das Model 1 (M1) BackPacker Pro hat eine perfekte Größe, weshalb es seit Jahren zu den Bestsellern von White River Knives gehört! Das neue Sondermodell 2023 wird mit blauen Marbled Carbon Fiber Griffschalen ausgestattet, einem Verbundmaterial aus blauen G10 Platten und marmorierten Carbon Fasern, sodass jeder Griff ein Unikat ist. Als Klingenstahl wird nochmals der neue pulvermetallurgische CPM MagnaCut Stahl, diesmal mit 62 HRC, verwendet. MagnaCut gilt als der neue Superstar unter den rostfreien CPM-Stählen da er eine ähnliche Zähigkeit und Schnitthaltigkeit aufweist wie die nicht rostfreien Top-Stähle CPM-CruWear und CPM-4V. Im Gegensatz zu diesen übertrifft er aber in Sachen Korrosionsbeständigkeit sogar CPM 20CV und liegt sogar bei dieser nur knapp unter der außergewöhnlichen Rostbeständigkeit von Vanax oder LC200N. Die Karbidstruktur von MagnaCut ist dabei viel feiner als die der meisten pulvermetallurgisch hergestellten nichtrostenden Stähle wodurch eine ungewöhnlich hohe Schärfe erreicht werden kann. Jedes Messer besitzt seine eigene Seriennummer auf der Klinge und ein Zertifikat. Das Messer wird in einer Holzbox mit eingravierter Seriennummer geliefert. Die Auflage beträgt 100 Stück weltweit.
