White River uses only USA sourced materials with the exception of certain exotic materials not produced in the US such as cork. The White River Knife and Tool name is inspired by Michigan’s White River which runs through the family property in the Manistee National Forest.

Das GTI 4.5 von White River Knives wurde von Justin Gingrich entwickelt. Justin war 10 Jahre in der US Army, wovon er sowohl bei den Rangers als auch anschließend bei den Special Forces eingesetzt wurde. In diesem Messer bringt er seine Ideen und Anforderungen für ein optimales Militär- und Outdoormesser ein. In Zusammenarbeit mit White River wurde das GTI 4.5 umgesetzt.
