Morakniv® Carving Knife No. 120

Product information "Morakniv® Carving Knife No. 120"

Morakniv® Carving Knife No. 120, Blade length 59 mm, overall length 165 mm.

Popular, all-purpose woodworking knife also suitable for use in schools due to its compact blade. Comes with a plastic sheath.

Morakniv Cutting tool blades have been forged in the Swedish town of Mora since the 17th century. The Frost company, founded in 1891 by Erich Frost, first popularized the ´Mora Knife,´ which soon became synonymous with functionality and reliability among woodworkers, hunters and fishermen worldwide.
The majority of the blades presented here are forged from rolled 2.5 mm stock of traditional triple-layered laminated carbon steel. The knives are distinguished by their excellent sharpening properties and long edge life (the hardness of the core layer is approx. 61 RC). To preserve the steel´s fine grain structure, alloys have not been added, meaning that the blades are not corrosion free. The birch handles are firmly attached to the full-length tang.

Schnitzmesser Nr. 120 (LC) von Morakniv®
Morakniv Woodcarving 120 (LC)

This is a real stalwart among experienced woodworkers worldwide. The laminated carbon steel has unparalleled toughness that can withstand lateral bending and has a cutting resistance that optimises its carving properties. It is also easy to re-sharpen so you can experience enjoyable carving over and over again. With a barrel-shaped oiled Scandinavian FSC® certified birch wood handle and an approximately 2.7 mm thick, tapered laminated carbon steel blade, you can take your creativity to new levels. The knife’s full rat tail tang, which runs through the entire handle, provides both strength and stability in each cut and the handle gives you the opportunity to shape it to your own needs or expression. The knife should always be in the polymer sheath when not in use, partly to minimise the risk of cutting injury but also to maintain sharpness. Laminated carbon steel will rust, so wipe and oil the blade after use. The classic laminated carbon steel woodcarving knives are appreciated by our greatest craftsmen Jögge “Surolle” Sundkvist & Beth Moen, as well as by generations of craftsmen with a love of carving. Japanese Combination Stone, 1000/3000 grit

1000/3000 grit, 180 x 50 x 45 mm.High-performance ceramic stone, very wear resistant. Especially recommended for kitchen knives. Plastic box with non-slip rubber base.Japanese Man-Made Waterstones (Toishi)The fast, clean cutting action of man-made Japanese waterstones is making them more and more popular among Western woodworkers. Their soft bond and open-pored structure allow fresh, sharp abrasives to be continually exposed during use, resulting in optimal sharpening performance. The stones are made of highly purified metal oxide, carbide and nitride particles bonded together in a ceramic or synthetic matrix. They are suitable for both Japanese and European cutting tools and knives. If necessary, they can be trued with wet silicon carbide paper stuck to a glass surface or preferably with a special ceramic truing block (No. st024). Prior to use, the stones must be soaked for 2 - 10 minutes, depending on grit. Alternately, they can be stored in water-filled containers for immediate use.The Advantages:• No overheating of the steel.• No rounding of the cutting edges.• Wide array of fine grits.• High sharpening performance.• No messy oil on the blades.

Bark River Gunny Hunter Black Micarta
Bark River Gunny Hunter Black Canvas Micarta

Bravo Gunny Hunter Black Canvas Micarta is 8 1/4" overall. 3 5/8" CPM-3V stainless blade with thumb ridge. Full tang. Contoured black canvas micarta handles. Lanyard hole. Embossed brown leather belt sheath. The new Gunny-Hunter is the factory drop point version of the Standard Gunny. All Gunny-Hunters are rampless and have been made with and without jimping on the spine. This version of the Gunny has, not only a dropped point, but has a hunter saber grind on the blade. The terminal geometry of the edge is a little thinner than a standard Gunny and is made more for field work and hunting tasks than the standard model. We have been converting so many of the standard Gunnys to a drop point rampless that we decided, with suggestion from Jason at DLT, to offer this new version. The clean lines of the knife are apparent and it adds a whole new look to this series. This knife is supplied with the Gunny Pouch Sheath.
