The seeds of the camellia tree have been pressed to make a very versatile, light oil in the Far East for thousands of years.
Corrosion protection: Camellia oil is acid-free, not volatile and not susceptible to resinification, making it the ideal oil to protect tools, knives and firearms from rust. Because it is also 100% organic and food safe, it is especially well-suited for the preservation of kitchen knives made of high carbon steel. Camellia oil is even used extensively in traditional Asian cooking.
Wood treatment: When applied to wooden surfaces, camellia oil is absorbed quickly due to its low viscosity. Once absorbed, it helps protect the wood from damage by moisture, dirt and UV light and improves its polishing properties.
