French Scissors
The meeting of two cutting edges, an event usually avoided at all costs in the workshop, is central to the function of every pair of scissors. A pair of scissors will only perform well if its blades are accurately polished. Even a minor surface nick will act as a file and dramatically decrease the tool’s edge life. The cutting bevels, hollow-ground inner surfaces and the tension between the blades must be set by an experienced specialist to ensure the optimal balance between smooth function and cutting power is found. The André Tisserand company based in Nogent, France still crafts high-quality scissors using traditional methods. Careful forging, grinding and sharpening are followed by hand-sharpening and individual tuning to ensure the highest performance and durability. Please return the scissors to us for resharpening when necessary.
