Fine cooking knives should not be stored in a drawer or on a magnetic strip (which by magnetizing the steel blades can complicate sharpening). We recommend these solid hardwood knife blocks specially designed for storing Japanese Hocho which fit 7 knives up to 270 mm in length and 9 mm in thickness and one scissors. The heftiness ensures stability and the angled design allows easy access. The surfaces are finely sanded and treated with vegetable oil. Also suitable for storing Western cooking knives.
